Beautiful Nove Faience Monteith. 19th century. Hand decorated floral panels. Glaze damage, chips to rim and foot - internal firing spots otherwise sound. 28cm wide, 23cm deep, 17cm high. Please contact for more photographs. A monteith was filled with water or ice and used to chill wine bottles or for cooling and rinsing wine glasses, the glasses would be hung inverted from the notched rim.
