Silver Pair Cased Verge Fusee Pocket Watch 1809
Here we have have for sale a beautiful early 19th century George III period verge fusee pairs cased solid hallmarked silver pocket watch.
The inner and outer case are both hallmarked for Birmingham 1809 and have the makers mark for William Howard, the exquisite watch movement is marked Brawd London No 123002 and the watch has its original glass and enamel dial.
Condition report: Unfortunately the watch is missing its key and I have been unable to test the movement and so it it is sold as seen.
The outer case is missing its button but is in over wise good order with minor dents, scratches and tarnish.
The watch case is in good condition for its age, there is noticeable tarnish and light surface scratches, plus engraved initials WB, the original glass is in good condition, the dial is in reasonable condition, the is a small chip to the enamel ( not noticeable when the watch is closed) and cracks and marks.
The verge fusee movement appears appears to be in good condition but unfortunately I have not been able test it as I have no key, however the balance wheel does spin for a few seconds.
A superb example that would make a fine addition to any quality horology collection.
Weight: 131 grams
