Rare Osuhr / Oswald Carved Owl Rolling googly Eye
RARE ANTIQUE OSUHR / OSWALD CARVED OWL ROLLING/GOOGLY EYE CLOCK c1926
This charming little Black Forest Owl was made by the Oswald company in Germany circa 1926, and was one of a range of "moving eye" antique clocks. The Owl has the eyes moving round, changing the expression, as it tells the time.
The body of the antique clock is made of solid linden wood that has been carved with wonderful detail. Our little chap is stood "side on" and standing on a book. (Wise Owl)
It has a beautiful patina and colour.....and its working.
He stands just under 9.5 inches high, and the back plate has a list of the various patents dated 1925 + 1926 (please see photos).
