Pair of African hardwood carved busts
Great pair of c19th African carved hardwood busts of two gentleman. Not entirely sure what they are carved in, but they are surprisingly heavy!
Nice size to stand as a pair either together like this or perhaps either end of a console for example.
Well carved and great features, the chap on the right is a slightly lighter tone than the other, but only a little.
Measuring:
11 1/2 inches or 32 cm high
5” or 12.5 cm wide
4 1/2 inches or 11.5 cm deep Based in Uppingham, Rutland…having been in the business for 25 years focusing on mostly French and English decorative antiques and interiors from the 18th to the early 20th century, hopefully a collection you will enjoy browsing and hopefully re home some of my finds!
Viewing here in Uppingham is very welcome in my spacious barn studio but also I have a showroom based within the Uppingham Antiques Centre, which is well worth a visit and have a good lunch in town too!
