Decorative Antique 19th Century Carved Pine Finial
English Antique Carved Pine Finial.
This decorative, large 19th century antique finial is carved in pine in the form of feathers with the original ebonised paint finish.
Originally, this antique finial would have been high up on a horse drawn funeral hearse.
It is metal bound at the base, this too is original.
The horses that pulled the carriage would have had real black feathers atop their bridles.
English. circa1870.
