A splendid Clover brand musical powder box. The lid is decorated with a technique often called damascene or chokin. Inlaid 14 karat gold and sterling silver adorn the lid which makes this music box and ideal golden or silver wedding anniversary gift. This music box has not been used for face powder. The original pristine puff, sifter and pouch are present.The decorations are finely crafted oriental scenes which depict the Ichinomiya, or supreme Shinto shrine of Suruga Province, Mount Fuji can be seen in the background. All clasps and hinges work perfectly. The brass was coated at the point of manufacture with a layer of transparent enamel so this item will retain its beauty and never require cleaning. The inner lid of the compact is signed Clover. The bevelled mirror gives a good clear reflection. The base of this adorable music box is decorated with a golden textured finish.

This compact is suitable for use with loose face powder.

The musical powder box measures 9 cm x 5.7 cm and weighs 147.3 grams.
