A wonderful Art Nouveau locket!

This solid gold keepsake locket as assayed (tested for gold purity) at Birmingham Assay Office in 1917.

The anterior surface features a shield shaped cartouche.

The shield motif conveys the desire to protect.

Both sides are embellished florid acanthus leaves and forget-me-not flowers.

Acanthus leaves symbolise the desire for longevity.

Forget-me-not flowers express the feelings of deep love and respect.

The interior compartments are lined with sturdy card inners.

This antique pendant suitable to hold two photographs.

All clasps and hinges work perfectly.
