Antique Waltham half hunter pocket watch, 1919
An antique Waltham half hunter pocket watch, 1919.
The watch has a stem-winding movement, with beautifully patterned plates, which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed and the serial number 22,785,701 dates it back to 1919. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.
The watch measures 52mm diameter excluding the stem and the loop, it is slightly larger than a standard 50mm case and has a nice chunky feel to it. The case is gold plated and was made by the Dennison Watch Case Company, a prolific manufacturer of cases for various watch makers. The case has a couple of small knocks and the odd minor mark but overall is in very acceptable condition for a piece that is 99 years old.
The front cover has a small lens which is surrounded by enamel filled Roman numerals. The winding crown pushes in to open this front cover.
Inside, there is a glass lens which is in good condition.
The signed dial is in beautiful condition and has blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.
The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
