Antique silver Langendorf pocket watch, 1928

Antique silver Langendorf pocket watch, 1928.
The watch has a seven jewel stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover which has a long service inscription from ICI Kynoch Ltd.
Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI) incorporated the ammunition manufacturer Kynoch, which was initially known as George Kynoch & Co. in 1926. Kynoch became a key part of ICI's Metals Division, particularly its Birmingham site, and was involved in significant production of semi-fabricated non-ferrous metals, ammunition, and other products, especially during World War II. The Kynoch brand continued to be used for sporting cartridges within ICI.
The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside both of the case backs for Birmingham 1928, together with a maker’s mark for the Birmingham case maker Aaron Dennison. The case is in good condition, just minor marking around the edge, nothing too serious at all.
The glass lens is in good condition, just a couple of small marks.
The dial is signed Langendorf. The Langendorf Watch Company produced watches in Langendorf, Switzerland for exactly a century, from 1873 until 1973. The dial is in very nice condition with original blued steel hands and a minute track with numbers picked out in red.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
ALL PRICES INCLUDE UK POSTAGE (excluding Northern Ireland).
Please contact us before placing international orders so that we can advise of shipping prices and to see if customs regulations allow us to post watches to your country.
The international buyer is responsible for paying any import duties and taxes.
All of our watches are checked over before listing, and are also checked for accuracy which is usually within around +/- two to three minutes over 24 hours (unless otherwise stated), which is considered respectable for a vintage watch.
We are a VAT registered company and all purchases are covered by Consumer Regulations.
Credit / debit card purchases can be made over the telephone on 01386 750238 or you can proceed via the \'Buy Securely\' button on each listing page.
We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
