Superb quality Edwardian adjustable reading stand by Foots of London c.1910. Designed to fit beside a chair or bed it can be used as either a flat table or sloped stand for a book, magazine or sheet music. Oak book rest/table with sprung page stays, angle adjustable with a sprung button at the top of the upright, whilst loosening the wing nut at the rear allows it be rotated 90 degrees. Small circular secondary stand, also in oak with raised edge, for a lamp or drink perhaps. Height adjustable on a heavy cast iron base with ball and claw feet and castors to the front. Excellent condition with original maker’s label to the underside.
