1950s Ardath triple date wrist watch
1950s Ardath triple date wrist watch.
The watch has Swiss 17-jewel hand-winding movement, Venus 1221, which is working nicely. In the photos, you will see a couple of empty screw holes, these are for retaining screws. However, as there is a retaining ring fitted, these screws are not required.
The watch measures 33mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is gold plated and it is in lovely condition. The screw-on case back is stainless steel. It states that the watch is water protected but, as with any vintage watch, it should be kept away from water and moisture.
The lens is in lovely condition.
The signed dial is in its original finish with original hands and date pointer hand with red detailing. The day and month are initially set with the small buttons to the side of the case, and the date pointer is set with the button at number 4.
The brand name Ardath was registered in 1935 in Geneva by Edmond Dreyfus. They made watches with movements supplied by major Swiss manufacturers.
A new leather strap has been fitted.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
