William Quaker Pegg Atributed Derby C1795

We have for sale a bit of a rarity, a Derby dessert plate c1795 the decoration of which is attributed to the derby decorator William Quaker Pegg. This is very much a plate for the collector of very rare Derby Porcelain.
This derby desert plate is very hard to source and examples very seldom come to market. It is decorated with a gilt dentil rim around a wide band decorated with gilt floral motifs. Within this border, the central region is painted with an apple green ground around a central gilt bordered panel painted with roses and other flowers. The back of the plate carries a blue Duesbury mark along with a label indicating that the plate was item No 46 or 96 in the collection of the well known Deby porcelain expert, R.H. French. A similar plate was illustrated in the William "Quaker" Pegg Bicentenary Exhibition, 1813 - 2013, see the Derby Porcelain Society web site. This plate is one of only a few attributed to Quaker Pegg during his early career at Derby.
The plate is just over 9.5 inches (24cm) in diameter and is in an excellent condition other than a few knife marks to the central decoration.
