A vintage powder compact and lipstick holder set. The set was made in the 1960s and comes in the original hard case and accessories - puff, sifter and instruction leaflets. The compact is known as the Stratton '10-Sided Convertible'. It is suitable for loose and compressed face powder. Compressed powder pans measuring 59 - 67 mm diameter will fit. Gorgeous iridescent mother of pearl adorns both items. The mirror gives a good & accurate reflection. The hinge and catch work perfectly. The base is signed 'Stratton MADE IN ENGLAND'. Measures 3 1/4" and weighs 90.4 grams. The lipstick holder is signed 'Stratton No3 MADE IN ENGLAND'. Measures 2 1/2" and weighs 17.6 grams. The presentation case is also in good condition. The interior lid is lined with white satin which is signed 'Stratton'. The interior base is covered with beautiful royal blue velvet. Free lavishly illustrated history of this piece included.
