This antique majolica egg basket dates from the second half of the nineteenth century. It is of nice quality, but there are no maker's marks. The basket has a raised raspberry leaf and flower design and a central carrying handle. It retains what appears to be its six original egg cups.

Condition: Overall in good condition, with some wear consisten with age and use. The basket and egg cups have some quite significant crazing and some manufacturing flaws, including around the handle of the basket. One of the egg cups has a small chip to the base, two others have some hairline cracking, and one other has been broken and reglued at the stem.

The approx. measurements are as follows:
Basket - 15cm high, 17cm by 14cm
