Description:
Here is a stunning quality antique English Victorian solid mahogany revolving / swivel office desk arm chair, circa 1880, in excellent original condition. The chair is designed with an elegant curved bar back, incorporating a comfortable high fan back below, with moulded side supports, all of which is secured by the shaped arms. The chair boasts a stunning quality “saddle shaped” seat, which is extremely comfortable to sit on. The chair revolves 360 degrees (please note, these earlier Victorian office chairs were not designed to be height adjustable or tilt). The chair stands on its original cabriole legs and features brass & mug castors. The chair is very comfortable to sit on and it has a fantastic colour and is in excellent overall condition.
The chair features a rich dark brown mahogany colour. It has a fantastic colour and patination this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
This antique swivel desk chair would look superb in a variety of rooms in the home, especially the office or library as it so comfortable. This item would certainly grace any home. So, don’t miss out on your chance to own a lovely piece of antique furniture.
Condition Report:
The chair and mechanism are in original working condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the chair frame, but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The chair frame has been cleaned and French polished, to a professional standard, in our workshop therefore, it boasts a stunning colour. The revolving mechanism is in good working order, having also been cleaned and serviced. There is some play to the mechanism, but this is perfectly acceptable, and in line with the age of the chair, and will be found in all office chairs of this age. There are no breaks to the back, arms or legs. The chair stands on its original legs and features brass & mug castors (the castors are in good condition). The chair is well constructed, solid in joint and ready to use.

Once you have purchased an item, we will contact you be email and/or telephone and provide you with a provisional delivery date, in order for you to confirm if it is suitable for you. Once you have confirmed you can accept delivery on the provisional delivery date, we will book the delivery in with our shippers and it then becomes a confirmed delivery date.

For any large items that require 2 people to lift the item, we ask that you are available at the time of delivery to be able to give our shipper a lift off the van and into your house with the item. A free 14-day “no quibble” returns policy (from the date you receive the item) is available if you are not happy with this item.
