!930s Swallow mascot in chromium plated brass by Desmo. In good original condition and still mounted on the radiator cap it was fitted with when in use (cap's threaded portion has a diameter of 1 15/16 inches..Swallow measures 4 inches from tip of its beak to the end of its forked tail feathers. Never damaged by being bent but does have a degree of weathering to the original chrome and the cap, although perfectly usable the cap does have some age and use related dings and scratches. We have not tampered with this piece or attempted to clean it so it retains the, now, perished black rubber seal on mascot's plinth as well as remnants of a red rubber washer within the cap. These mascots were a popular accessory for cars such as Wolseley Hornets and Austin Sevens bodied by Swallow Coachbuilders - later SS and then Jaguar. Price includes postage to any UK address.
