Superb Pair Lemon & Crute Art Pottery Bird Vases
Sorry, this item is now sold. If you are seeking similar, feel free to contact me with your requirements. Thank you.
An exceptional pair of large, antique vases from the Lemon and Crute art pottery, Torquay, Devon.
Hand-thrown (by Tom Lemon) from the local red earthenware and beautifully decorated (by Harry Crute) with finches amongst flowering thistles and foliage, these are amongst the best examples from the pottery that I've seen.
Distinctive and very much reflective of the general Art Nouveau aesthetic of the time, these vases date from the first part of the 20th Century and were probably made c.1915 - 1922.
Fully marked and numbered to the bases, as shown, these vases stand some 12 inches tall and display very well indeed - better than the photos might suggest.
Offered in perfect condition. Email or call for any further information on this item. We give great attention to each and every item we select and offer for sale, priding ourselves on the accuracy of our descriptions and research. We are very happy to provide complete and exacting condition reports (together with further photographs, where necessary) and encourage buyers to request this information prior to purchase.
Accepted payment methods are via paypal, bank transfer, personal cheque or cash.
Viewing of any item in person, prior to purchase, is always welcomed by appointment.
