Superb 24 inch Brass Gothic Candlesticks Cabochons
Fresh to the market from Ireland, we are delighted to offer for sale this magnificent pair of Gothic revival Brass Church Candlesticks with eight red glass cabochons.
The Candlesticks have a deep dished drip pan, with a pierced gothic gallery and a tall sconce with rimmed edge. The spiral twist column leads to a central knop set with four red glass cabochons. Below this, the lower spiral column leads down to a bell shaped cast iron loaded base, set with a further four red cabochons in floral shaped holders. There is a chased celtic motif around the base between the cabochons. The whole is set on three lion's paw feet.
These candlesticks are of heavy brass and are truly superb! The workmanship is excellent.
There is a similar pair currently for sale on another online antiques site which are 5 1/2" taller for £1,850. Other than these, we have never seen similar candlesticks available for sale.
