Stunning Spencer Edge ewer
A stunning ewer designed by Spencer Edge hand painted underglaze with an Art Nouveau style maiden.
William Millett Spencer Edge was the son of William Millett Edge and Isabella Fletcher. Spencer married Emily Bennett, the sister of the author Arnold Bennett. The Edges owned earthenware companies in Burslem in Staffordshire, England. Spencer's designs can be found on many articles manufactured by Staffordshire potteries, many of them in the Art Nouveau style.
The ewer measures 25cm tall, the base measuring 16.5cm in diameter. Very good condition throughout and free from any damage or restoration.
