Original oil painting of the river Conwy in North Wales showing falls near Betws -y - Coed, sparkling water on a sunny day in magnificent mountainous scenery.
The painter was obsessed with highland landscape and travelled round Britain depicting its many beautiful upland places in the early 1900’s.
The artist, FE Jamieson was employed as a painter, so to avoid detection he used up to 15 pseudonyms to be able to sell his own paintings secretly. This painting is signed ‘Phil Hipps’ and the title is inscribed on the back of the canvas. Some slight damage / creasing as shown, condition commensurate with its age. Wooden/ gilt frame, good condition. Unglazed as customary with oil paintings. Shop located in Ludlow Uk. Opening hours vary by season so please call first.
