Rare Silver Antique Bookmakers Badge
This is a rare item.

I found quite a number of these badges in base metal, but did not find one in solid silver.

Walter Beresford set up and was the first president of the Bookmakers Protection Association.

This was set up to combat the Birmingham gangs made famous in the BBC production Peaky Blinders.

The badge is in excellent condition.

Chester 1929, no makers mark.

W 6.5 cm H 7 cm
