Rare Antique Book of Skull Sketches by R. Cardew

This is a rare antique book of scientific and medical interest by Richard Cardew, who lived at 4 North View Wimbledon, family member of the celebrated studio potter Michael Cardew.
It contains 18 sketches of various skulls (mostly of mammals and many with detailed notes), to include Homo Sapiens, Homo Sapiens foetal, Colobus guereza, Cercophitecus, Cebus hypoleucus, Felis domesticus, Canis familiaris, Canis vulpes, Meles taxus, Lutra vulgaris, Cavia cutleri, Lepus europaeus and Corvus frugilegus.
Most of them are signed and dated 1914-1915.
There is also a later medical note in the book from the eye specialist Rupert Scott at St. Bartholomew's Hospital in London, dated 30 November 1944.
The book starts with a list of contents, but a good chunk of the pages have been removed (probably to be sold separately).
There are still 18 sketches left in it though and I've taken photos of most of them (I've combined quite a few of them in one of the pictures).
The size of the book is 31 x 25 cm and it's in fair condition (the cover is quite marked and some of the pages have come loose).
Offered with FREE UK postage!
I will consider international shipping to select destinations. Please get in touch if you're interested.
