Pinder Bourne Birds in a Tree Display Plate c1880
We have for sale a rather lovely and very decorative earthenware display plate by the Burslem manufacturer Pinder Bourne and Co.
This striking plates is sumptuously decorated with a blue and white wooded country scene depicting silver sparrows on a gilded pine tree branch. The plate is marked to the reverse with the Pinder Bourne impressed mark and the pattern number 806 dating to around 1880.
The plate is 9.25 inches (23.5cm) in diameter and is in a good condition with no chips, cracks or repairs, however, the plate carries a stain to the lower left and the craqueler one would expect from a piece of Pinder Bourne earthenware of this period.
