Pair of Victorian Christopher Dresser Candlesticks
For sale we have a very attractive pair of Christopher Dresser design copper and brass candlesticks.
This eye catching pair of copper and brass candlesticks are of a typical Christopher dresser aesthetic design consisting of half beehive copper base extending to a brass colomn which extends to a turned ebonised fruit wood handle and terminates in a styistic copper and brass flower. The candlesticks date from around 1880-1890, are unmarked but retain their original base plate and were most probably made by Benham and Froud.
The candle sticks are approximately 7 & 1/4 inches (18.5cm) high and the bases are approximately 3 & 3/4 inches (9.5cm) in diameter. The candlesticks are both in a very good original antique condition although the copper basses do carry one or two small indentations commensurate with their age.
