This is a pair of antique display vases. An Italian, heavy marble and bronze decorative urn, dating to the Grand Tour period, circa 1870.

Accentuated with strikingly slender handles, adorned with minute finials
Sealed nozzle within the flared rim hosts a diameter of 4cm (1.5'') - ideal for candles
Decorative engravings to the globular body, depicting Pudicitia - the Roman goddess of modesty
To the handle side, flourishes of interwoven scrolling vines add further engraved interest
As it tapers, a Greek key border continues the neoclassical fascination of Italian decorative arts
Bronzed circular stem stands upon a tapering marble socle, held securely beneath
