This is a delightful original watercolour of a lady dressed in a warm fir rimmed coat with a fur hand muff titled, ‘The letter’. The painting is watercolour and ink on paper and signed bottom right M Gardiner.
May Gardiner Nee. MacPherson was an accomplished artist who exhibited between 1914 and 1919 including at the International Society and the Society for women artists.
The painting is highly evocative of the era and is offered in an attractive modern frame. There is a label to the reverse for Paul Liss of Liss Llewellyn Fine Arts.
This painting including frame measures 31cm x 22.5cm.
