Watercolour and Pencil Original Artwork by B. Righetti, late 19th / early 20th Century

This beautiful watercolour was painted by Italian artist A. Bernardin Righetti in the late 19th or early 20th century. He painted watercolour scenes of the French and Italian Riviera, particularly the alleyways and narrow streets of the old towns, the majority being around the town of Menton in southeast France.

The painting is in its original gold mount and frame, which complement the soft, pastel colours of the piece. It captures perfectly the warmth of the day and delicate beauty of the flowers.

The painting is signed in the lower right corner by the artist. A very similar painting, Flowers on the Amalfi Coast, sold at Christie's in 2004 (see christies.com for details)

The painting is in very good condition. The original paper on the rear of the frame is aged and torn in the centre. Please examine the photographs and feel free to ask us any questions.
