This is a Still Life Oil on 3/4 inch mahogany panel of a cluster of Chrysanthemums and their foliage. They are off white, pale mauve and gold in colour and are of the Spider Chrysanthemum variety. We would date this work to circa 1900. Unfortunately, there is no evidence of a signature or clue to the artist on the back of the panel.

The painting is framed in an ornate, 3 1/2 inch swept gilt frame and cream and gilt slip, which suit it very well. The painting will be supplied with new brass hangers, new brass picture wire and will be ready to hang. Due to the thickness of the mahogany panel, it is quite heavy and weighs 4.25kg including the frame.

Condition: Very good. The surface is clean and there is no paint loss or craquelure. The frame is in very good condition.
