A very sporting looking 19th century brass vesta case in the form of a deer's foot with the striker inset into the base of the hoof. A Push button mechanism which is inset to the body of the case that operates the sprung lid which also is in scribed 'Bess' to the lid.
A Nice quality item which is a bit of a novelty and quite unusual in its form that would make an interesting addition to his or hers collection of vesta cases.
