Ming Dynasty Chinese Bowl 16th Century
In General
A wonderful opportunity to own a piece of 16th Century Chinese history!This 16th Century, Ming Dynasty (1368 -1644) Chinese blue and white glazed pottery bowl is over 400 years old! This bowl shows beautiful free hand painted underglaze floral motifs on the sides and inner base. There is double stripe around the rim of the base. This bowl has acquired a warm satin patina as a result of its great age.

In good solid overall condition given that it is over 400 years old! There are some hairline cracks and 2 chips to the rim. Elsewhere on the rim there is some loss of paint and glaze. There are 3 small chips to the rim of the underside. The bowl has some pin holes in the glaze from the original firing process. There is a small raised nodule of pottery on the outside of the bowl. The inner base has more of a textured finish from use. Please see photographs.
