Unusual and attractive Indian street scene in watercolour on board by the British artist Carlton Alfred Smith (1853-1946), presumably dating from the period 1916-1923 which Smith spent living and painting in India. A lady in a vivid red sari pauses to talk whilst fruit sellers sit in the shade nearby. With a clear signature in the lower right corner. Excellent condition presented in the original card mount.
