Georgian Ridgway Porcelain Coffee Cup & Saucer
A very pretty Ridgway porcelain London shape coffee cup and saucer decorated with panels of salmon enamel ground with frames of underglaze blue with large shaped reserves painted with garden flowers. Ornate gilt decoration edging the reserves and filling the centre of the saucer and outside of the cup. Gilt roses are painted over the salmon panels with sawtooth edges and a gilt sawtooth and pale blue enamel frieze around the rims. Pattern number 2/585 painted in red to the underside of both, c.1815.
The cup measures 6.1cm (2 3/8") high to the rim and 7.1cm (2 13/16") rim to rim, The saucer is 14.6cm (3 3/4") wide and 3cm (1 3/16") high.
In very good condition with just a couple of small foot rim chips to the saucer, no repair or restoration. Very minor handling wear, just a bit of wear to the gilt on the lower half of the outside of the cup. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque.
