Gents 9ct gold Longines wrist watch.
The watch has a calibre 19.4 17 jewel hand-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed and it has the serial number 11,009,307 which dates it back to 1959. There appears to be an empty screw hole within the movement but it is just the head of the screw that has come off.
The watch measures 32mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is 9 carat gold and there are hallmarks inside the case back for London 1975. The inside of the case back is also signed with the name Baume, importers of Longines watches to the UK and the Commonwealth. The case is in lovely condition, just a slight unevenness to the back, nothing serious at all and free of inscriptions.
The dates on the movement and the case are a long way apart and it appears as though the watch was restored some years ago, and the whole movement was replaced with an earlier period movement, which we sometimes see in the case of water damage. The movement fits perfectly and is a sympathetic replacement.
The lens is in good condition.
The signed dial has a little marking but not too serious, it looks as though the whole dial was professionally re-finished some years ago, which ties in with the restoration work when the movement was replaced.
A new leather strap has been fitted.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
