Gents antique Waltham 9ct gold wrist watch
Gents antique Waltham 9ct gold wrist watch.
The watch has a seven jewel hand-winding movement, grade 361, which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed and it has the serial number 23,449,558 which dates it back to around 1920.
The watch measures 30mm wide excluding the winding crown and 30mm high excluding the lugs. The case is 9 carat gold and there are hallmarks inside the case back for Birmingham 1924, with a case maker’s mark for Aaron Dennison, main case supplier to Waltham UK. There is also a UK patent number which relates to a 1922 patent for, ‘ Improved means for securing strap ends to watches, buckles, or the like’. The front and sides of the case are in good condition while the back has some unevenness but not too detrimental.
The lens is in lovely condition.
The signed dial is in very nice condition with blued steel hands, a red number 12 and a subsidiary seconds dial.
A new leather strap has been fitted.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
