Galvanised Riveted Quencher / Trough. 19th Century
A substantial heavy quality galvanised Quencher / Trough.
Riveted iron construction with carrying handles and tapering sides. The base has a cross stretcher reinforced support with large disc pad feet.
It has been thoroughly cleaned of any loose rust, then treated with a rust inhibitor / sealer, meaning there should be no further rusting. It is solid and sound and ready for its next use either inside or out. It has not been drilled, but obviously can be.
Possibly made by DAVIES BROS LTD. WOLVERHAMPTON ? well known as one of the first producers of zinc galvanising. Established C.1839.
This rare Quencher is an impressive industrial item with immense character and patina and could be used in various situations, i.e. Planter, Storage, Display, Glass toped Coffee Table, etc, etc.
Size. Height 45 cm. Length 72 cm. Width 42 cm. Weight approx. 50 kilos.
