A relatively rare woodbock entitled "Flowers & Fruit" by John Hall Thorpe. The print is signed and inscribed in pencil in the lower margin.
It is professionally framed and in excellent condition.
John Hall Thorpe 1874 - 1947. Full member of The Royal Society of British Artists and of The Art Workers Guild.
Born in Australia, he began by illustrating The Sydney Mail. In 1902 he moved to England. Before the First World War he had his own studio in London where he designed, printed, published and sold his own woodblock prints. He was most prolific between 1920 and 1927.
His work is now widely collected for its superb colouration and strong Art Deco form.
