A charming early 18th Century antique head and shoulders portrait of a lady set within a roundel.
Sourced from a private collection based in the West Midlands.
Depicted wearing a silk dress dress and robes.
Sitter and artist unknown.
Her right breast slightly exposed but hidden by a bowl of fruit, the grapes signifying lustfullness and lewd thoughts however the uneaten peaches are a reminder of virtue.
Presented in a handmade "hogarth" style frame.
Conditon - minor surface abrasion to the bottom right corner (see image). Overall though, in good order for her age.
