Artist biography of the artist James Stuart Park, who was born in Kidderminster, Worcestershire. His parents where Scottish, his father & mother shortly after he was born moved to Ayrshire in Scotland where he grew up. He attended the well known Glasgow School of Art. Park furthered his studies in Paris with Lefebvre, Cormon also Boulanger. He was a colleague of the Glasgow Boys, sharing a studio with David Gauld and James Kay. He exhibited shown at the RSA also the GI, RSW, Connell & Sons and in England at the RA, Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool, MAFA and Baillie Gallery. He died in 1933 at the age of 71.
Park specialised & loved to paint arranged flowers, which was his favourite subject & he is best known for his flower works of art, he usually painted flowers against a dark background. He was largely noted for his flower studies, in particular roses. He also painted a limited series of head and shoulder studies of young girls, surrounded by flowers. Examples of his work are to be found in the collection of the Dick Institute and Lillie Art Gallery, Milngavie and Dundee City Art Galleries and Museums. National Galleries Scotland Kelvingrove art Gallery & Museum. Glasgow life Museums. Museums & Galleries Edinburgh. Fife Collections Centre. Kirkcaldy Galleries. Lillie art gallery. Paisley Art Institute Collection. Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. The Hunterian University of Glasgow. Williamson Art Gallery & Museum. His paintings have sold at auction houses around the world with the current highest sold price being $44,366 US dollars which was for pink and lemon roses.

Making Payment
Goods can be bought by either International bank wire transfer or domestic BACS payment we can email you an invoice together with our banking instructions. Cash upon collection is also accepted. Shipping is with insurance cover. Import duty and taxes payable by the buyer please enquire if you need any assistance. Delivery by parcel courier within the UK Mainland will be used for all smalls, paintings & all furniture items allow between 2 to 5 working days delivery time. Online tracking can be provided. International delivery airfreight is available estimated delivery times between 5 to 14 working days approximate upon request by providing your full name and address together with a postal area or zip code and a contact phone number.

If the customer refuses to pay any duty and customs charges and the parcel is returned to sender all shipping charges will be deducted from any refund.

Returns are accepted within 14 days of receipt. The buyer is solely responsible for paying the entire costs of the outbound & return shipping costs also any import costs & duty taxes due. Return authorisation should be requested by sending an email before posting.
