Signed Cyril C Pearce, and inscribed "An Old Soldier" Character Study, March 11th 1905.
Coloured chalks on paper.
Framed and glazed.
Cyril Pearce studied Barnstable and Reading. He was a teacher of design and composition at Reading University and was elected a member of the Royal Society of British artists in 1921. He exhibited 85 pictures between the years 1914-38, 83 at the RBA, 1 at the International Society and 1 at the Royal Academy in London. He lived in Reading.
