A stylish 1920s gold tone repousse vintage Dhaussy powder compact in excellent condition.
This is an early powder dispensing mechanism compact. The mirror bezel is highly elaborate and beautiful - the camera is not capturing the beauty of this bezel. It is a gilt guilloche design with a raised border - very pretty! The mirror has subtle age spots which may be seen in picture three but these do not spoil he enjoyment of the piece - they make it all the more authentic. It is an item of beauty. A delightful accessory and a very upmarket British brand. The base is signed 'Dhaussy' within an oval cartouche & decorated with a gorgeous guilloche design which resembles flower petals.
This antique compact measures 5.2 cm & weighs 49 grams.
