Description
This is an attractive and superb quality antique carved burr walnut rectangular coffee table with a glass top, circa 1920. Although the table is rectangular in shape it features an elegant serpentine front and back. The top consists of a lovely figured piece of burr walnut veneer, on a solid walnut frame and legs, with chamfered corners. The polish to the tabletop is protected by a useful glass removable insert, which is secured in place by a conspicuous wooden gallery perimeter. The tabletop features a decorative floral carved floral moulded edge. Further below is a stunning open fretwork carved & shaped frieze. The table is supported by four prominent cabriole legs, which at the knees, feature elegant acanthus leaf carvings. The legs terminate on elegant pad shaped feet. This vintage coffee table is unique and quirky with stunning quality it would be an ideal interior decorators’ item.
This coffee table boasts a mellow burr walnut colour. As its boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.

This coffee table is in excellent condition. There is an excellent colour and patination to the timber. The table is constructed of solid walnut with a stunning burr walnut veneer top. The floral carving to the moulding and frieze is complete and also in excellent condition. The removable glass top is also in excellent condition and is free of any damage. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received. This item is solid in joint (does not wobble) and ready to use.
