It is so rare to find one of these compacts in the original box, with the original pouch & puff in unused condition. A collector's piece!

This is such a wonderful compact mirror made by Dorothy Gray in the 1940s in superb condition.
As you would expect from Dorothy Gray it is superbly made. A high quality compact with black enamel mask the most delightful design of a raised "Savoir Faire" mask with incised ribbons on a rhinestone studded brushed gold tone background. The compact has been a collector's piece & is in the best condition possible. All the rhinestones are in place & also the original box, pouch & puff. It is made from good quality heavy brass. All clasps & hinges work perfectly. The gorgeous lid opens to reveal an excellent mirror which gives a perfect reflection. The inner lid is beautiful smooth gold tone & is the same glorious deep golden patina of the whole item. The base has an engine turned design of coarse spirals & a central cartouche that is signed "Dorothy Gray DOROTHY
GRAY LTD., DISTR., NEW YORK". The pouch still has the gilded letters 'Dorothy Gray' & is in excellent condition. There has never been powder in this compact & the signed puff is immaculate. Even the box is in very good condition.
Probably the best Dorothy Gray Savoir Faire compact you will see.
This vintage compact mirror measures 3 1/4" X 3" & weighs 126.5 grams.
