For sale today we have this Absolutely Stunning Art Nouveau Stoneware Vase with Applied Silver Plated Pewter Mounts. The blue glazed ceramic section features a relief design of green slender foliate stems that run all the way up into the mount above. The pewter mount is incredibly detailed with 4 lots of leaves that wrap around the top of the vase, the handles are high and dramatic while there are further whiplash designs to the collar. Measures 10" tall. Marked to the base 8890 R with hand painted XXVI. I have attributed the vase to Max Laeuger because everything about the ceramic section matches his style, from size, shape material and subject matter. I can find no reference of pieces of his being mounted with pewter but I am working on the basis that he supplied the ceramic to another company (orivit/ van hauten or similar) and hence the vase bears different marks to the usual.
This vase is in superb condition being free of any damage or repair. We are experienced dealers in mid to high end ceramics, metalware and other items.
