Description:
Here is a fine quality and decorative antique English George V Arts & Crafts single beech rush seated chair, circa 1920, in excellent original condition. The back incorporates a bank of turned spindles, above an elegant crown shaped top rail the seat features the original rush seat. The chair is raised on finely ring turned legs, with sabre legs to the rear, united by twin stretchers, for additional strength. The rush seat is in very good condition (free from wear or damage). The chair is raised on ring turned splayed legs. The legs receive additional strength through being united by simple turned stretchers, with one to the front and rear and two stretchers on either side. The chair solidly constructed and sits evenly on the ground.
As it boasts the original polish, it has a lovely colour and patination this can only be achieved through age and the years of care and cleaning it has received.
This chair would look superb in a variety of rooms, especially the kitchen, hall or bedroom. It would certainly grace any home in either a contemporary or traditional setting it is a great investment, as it is an extremely functional item.
