Art Deco Racing Car Teapot, Sadler, c.1937

This is a classic 1930s Art Deco teapot in the form of a racing car with driver. There are some modern reproductions of this available but this is an original Sadler one from the late 1930s in the fabulous green glaze with metallic silver trim and the number plate OKT42.
The teapot is in very good condition with no chips or cracks. There is some crazing to the glaze and a few tiny spots where the metallic silver has rubbed away but nothing that affects the overall look and style or functionality.
Unlike some novelty teapots this is entirely usable as a teapot for making tea or would look fabulous as a display piece for a fan of motor racing or a teapot collector.
The teapot measures 22.5cm at its longest point, is 10.5cm wide at it's broadest point and is 11.5cm high to the top of the driver's helmet. It weighs 795g.
The underside has an impressed mark for Made In England and the Registered No. 820236 which dates the design to 1937.
Shipping in the UK is £9 by Royal Mail Tracked & Signed Parcel Post.
Overseas buyers please enquire about shipping costs before making your purchase.
