A gorgeous authentic Art Deco compact made by L T Piver in the 1930s. Could this be any more Art Deco? The lid has a bold & eye-catching hexagon divided in to sections. Within each section is a fine spiral. The outer edges of the lid are such a delightful contrast of black & gold. The case is signed 'L.T. PIVER-PARIS' & the whole piece in very good condition. All clasps & hinges work perfectly. The interior is so attractive - beautifully gilded & the powder well decorated with chevrons. The mirror is very good - a few subtle age spots. The mirror bezel deep gold. The original powder plate is included & this too is gilded - L.T. Piver did not skimp on the details & the whole compact reflects the high end nature of this ancient French perfume house. The base is deliciously deco with fine & bold lines which form into chevrons & have a 3D effect.
