Art Deco Chrome "Go To Bed" Chamberstick
This is a practical and stylish Art Deco Chrome "Go To Bed" Chamberstick. The oblong base stands on four dimple feet and has a C-shaped handle. This is designed to hold the matchbox and has one side open to access the strike. Above this is a classic urn shaped sconce to hold the candle. Perfect for power cuts!
The chamberstick is British and dates to around the 1930s to 1950s. There is no makers' mark so we are unable to say who manufactured it.
Condition is very good, with no dings or dents, no significant loss to the chrome plating and just the superficial surface wear that has to be expected with use and the passage of time. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
The chamberstick is 8.3cm / 3.3ins from front edge to handle, 3.6cm / 1.4ins across and stands 5cm / 1.9ins high. It weighs 47.2g / 1.6oz.
