Antique Wingback Upholstered Fireside Armchair
An attractive wingback armchair. We date this chair to the early 20th century.
The chair sits on two downward tapered square section legs at the front and two square section splayed legs to the rear each on later added ball castors.
The armrests continue up from the base and have been overstuffed to form the classic scroll arm shape.
The armrests continue back to meet the well padded wingback backrest.
The chair is upholstered in a yellow patterned velour material.
The chair is very comfortable to sit on, with the backrest being shaped to provide good support for the lower back.
The chair has an overall height of 36.5" (93cm), an overall width of 33" (84cm), an overall depth of 32" (82cm), a backrest height of 22" (56cm), a seat height of 15" (38cm), a seat width of 18" (46cm) and a seat depth of 21" (54cm).
The chair remains in a very good usable condition with minor surface marks commensurate with age and usage including some minor wear to the legs. The material has some minor wear and there are some marks to the armrests, seat pad, backrest and wings. Please note that we have not attempted to have the chair professionally cleaned.
This remains a very stylish and elegant armchair. It is very comfortable and supportive to sit on and will continue to provide rest and relaxation for many years to come.
