Antique Georgian Seed Pearl & MOP Earrings
On offer is this fabulous pair of antique Georgian seed pearl flower earrings on carved MOP backs and long gold hooks.
Pieces like these were very popular wedding gifts in the 18th & early 19th centuries. But because they were so delicate and fragile, very few survived to the present days – which makes them a very rare find indeed!
There is some damage - missing pearls and signs of restoration to the earrings, as is the case with most such pieces, but even so they are very beautiful and wearable.
They measure about 4 cm long (not including the hooks) and approximately 1.8 cm at their widest.
