This is a very good quality set of eight ribbon back Chippendale style dining chairs, circa 1920.

This is an excellent example of a very good quality set of eight ribbon back dining chairs, circa 1920 which are of Georgian Chippendale styling. The design was popular during the mid Georgian period in England designed by the famous cabinet maker, Thomas Chippendale. Thomas Chippendale (who lived between 1718 - 1779) is regarded as having been one of the "big three" English antique furniture makers of the 18th century, along with Thomas Sheraton and George Hepplewhite. Chippendale gave his name to a distinctive style of light and elegant furniture designs.
This is an original set and not matched. The set consists of two carver chairs with arm rests and six side chairs. The backs of the chairs feature a curved carved top rail, a carved dual ribbon shaped splats. The armchairs features shaped arms with carved acanthus leaves to the knuckles of the armchairs. The seats boast a serpentine shaped design. The base of the chairs’ feature straight readed legs and stretchers all round for strength. All chairs are made from top quality mahogany and are firm and solid.
The stuff over seats has been upholstered to the calico stage. All they require is your choice of top cover fabric to allow them to fit into your colour scheme. We offer a competitive upholstery service where we can cover the chairs in a top fabric to your liking. Please enquire for a labour quote.

We will collect the item using our specialist Furniture Delivery Company to avoid any damage. We will not accept returns via a courier service due to experience of damaged items in transit.
